At Wallingford Counseling & Consultation, we are dedicated to strictly protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of the personal healthcare information you entrust to us. Each therapist upholds the ethical, therapeutic, and lawful responsibilities that our profession dictates regarding confidentiality. You can be assured that your healthcare information is protected to the upmost.
There are situations, however, when you may ask that some of your protected healthcare information be disclosed for the purpose of either third party billing or other necessary healthcare operations. We will do so only with your request and written permission. There are also situations where the law may require that we disclose information for the purpose of protecting your safety or the safety of others. In these cases, therapists are legally responsible to contact appropriate authorities.
Please see the following PDF for a more detailed copy of the guidelines of our profession regarding lawful use and disclosure of personal healthcare information. Feel free to ask your therapist for a copy of her privacy practices. The law requires that we give you a copy of your privacy rights. We are happy to do so and welcome your questions regarding these policies at any time.
